WO3.1 coexisting with WO4.0?

We have several WO3.1 (not 3.51) apps that are running on a Solaris 2.6  
machine.  We have a new WO4.0 app that needs to run on the same machine, and  
don't really want to have to port the 3.1 apps just yet (although eventually  
they'll be completely rewritten).  Is this possible?

After installing WO4.0 the 3.1 apps just stopped working.  It appears that  
the problem is that the old WebObjects adaptor is incompatible with the new  
libpdo.so shared library.  (Maybe others as well?)  In addition I'm not sure  
if the new machd and nmserver deamons will work with 3.1.

Any ideas?
