I do apologize for 3 posts! But I don't want anyone to knock
themselves out when I believe I have it.
I followed the instructions from this page:
http://www.prnet.de/RegEx/mysql-wo.html
Except that I don't how to add the suggested flags nor do I know
anything about implementing the java plugin they offer. All I know is
I have accessed mysql apparently because I can load one of my databases
into the EOModeler.
Of course, i remain all ears and would love to read about the parts of
the connector download that I apparently didn't use.
--
I am a newbie, an older "returning" student who is trying to teach
himself something about constructing these applications and relational
databases. I am quite slow and extremely forgetful, really. I want to
attempt to build something that could do what eGrade does... i even
want to add in some Math uses, i.e., incorporate allowances for the use
Latex2HTML or maybe later MathML stuff. This would allow professors of
math subjects to upload and/or use their large existing eGrade
database(?) of test, test that are given to students over the web.
Practice tests are delivered anywhere, real tests are done from
supervised locations, all graded through the program, all down through
the browser and web delivered.
I've never built anything before, so this is probably too tall an
order. I'm not doing it for money and if was something ppl wanted it
could open sourced or something. If anyone would like to help out, let
me know. I am not doing for any class project or anything --fact is
I'm not in classes right now.

Thanks for reading. I suffer: left-out-word-fail-to-proof-read
syndrome, so if it's really bad please ask.

Thank you.

<smaller>mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable; in that folder is another

The ReadMe in the second <smaller>mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable
folder</smaller> says the following, in part, about installation:
Once you have un-archived the distribution archive,
you can install the driver in one of two ways:
Either copy the "com" and "org" subdirectories and all of their
contents
to anywhere you like, and put the directory holding the "com" and "org"
subdirectories in your classpath, or...
Put mysql-connector-java-3.0.7-stable-bin.jar in your classpath,
either by adding the
FULL path to it to your CLASSPATH enviornment variable, or putting it
in $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext.
Could someone please inform of exactly what to do here? I'm a bit
confused by this. Especially since the folder contains lots of other
folders and items besides the .jar file and 2 folders mentioned.
Thanks in Advance,
