In addition to the below, I do have on my system the path /Library/Java
in there I have 2 folders, Home and Extensions.

I do not have a "jre" or lib/ext in /Library/Java, I do have bin and
lib in the Home folder, however I noted that there is the file
'OpenBaseJDBC.jar in the /Library/Java/Extensions folder. So, I would
guess that that is where the file
'mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable-bin.jar' should be, but what all the
other stuff that comes with the download, e.g., the com and org folders
that are mentioned in the Readme (see below)?

Thank you.

I am operating from a new install of WO5 (Mac OS X Server) and ned
instructions again --as I am no Unix expert.

The current down produces the folder:
<smaller>mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable; in that folder is another
if the same name and an apparently empty folder (perhaps containing
something invisible?) called 'clover.'</smaller>

The ReadMe in the second <smaller>mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable
folder</smaller> says the following, in part, about installation:

Once you have un-archived the distribution archive,

you can install the driver in one of two ways:

Either copy the "com" and "org" subdirectories and all of their
contents

to anywhere you like, and put the directory holding the "com" and "org"

subdirectories in your classpath, or...

Put mysql-connector-java-3.0.7-stable-bin.jar in your classpath,
either by adding the

FULL path to it to your CLASSPATH enviornment variable, or putting it

in $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext.

Could someone please inform of exactly what to do here? I'm a bit
confused by this. Especially since the folder contains lots of other
folders and items besides the .jar file and 2 folders mentioned.

Thanks in Advance,

Ted Rogers
