WebObjects 1.0 Release Date? History?

Howdy All,

I know the general history of WebObjects (originating in NeXT, acquired
by Apple when they purchased NeXT etc), and I know that parts of
WebObjects (e.g. EOF) existed before the product itself existed.

However, I'm having trouble finding out exactly when WebObjects 1.0 (if
there ever was such a beast) or something similar (perhaps just the
release of the WOF or a similar Kit) happened?  

I also realise that some of the tools (e.g. WOBuilder) came later, and
again things like EOModeller had a history with two-tier applications
before it was hijacked for three-tier applications.

I really only need the date (although release dates for major versions
with a brief overview of what was added etc would be great), but I think
it would be great if somebody could, someday, capture the history of
WebObjects.
