If you're going to use Carbon, and if you don't find the support you
need in Carbon (which I doubt), I would suggest that you look at
CoreFoundation instead, as it is plain C versus the ObjC in the NS*
classes. I don't know if there are any equivalents in CF, but it might
be worth a look.

I'm not the list-mom so I really can't tell you what to do - it's just
my opinion. Many of us are on several lists, and might not like the
duplicates. I don't like that it creates a forked discussion. The thing
that bugs me most is when I write a long reply to some question on one
list, only to later notice that it has already been answered on some
other list.
At the very least it's nice to point out that you're cross-posting when
you feel the need to do that.
