Also you could make two passes on the text entered- once to pick
out words/phrases to translate, then to translate individual
letters.
For example "you" -> "j00", "fear" -> "ph34r", even word
expansions like "aol" -> "aohell" or whatever.
Also some sort of randomization would be ideal- 1337 speak tends
to be very irregular. .. just the word "leet" has at least 5
different accepted spellings.
